Korean Ginseng

Name: Korean (or Asian) ginseng
Scientific name: Panax ginseng
Possible uses: Improve immune system, fatigue relief, improved blood circulation, improved blood circulation, improved memory, antioxidant properties, colds, swine flu, AIDs (inhibit immunity levels from declining so quickly), regulating hormone excretion, facilitating blood circulation, assisting with metabolism, inhibiting blood clots, hypertension, inhibits dementia-inducing substances, slowing down signs of aging, supplement for protection and treatment of cancer (skin cancer, breast cancer), improved climacteric symptoms, strengthening sexual functions, improve liver function, improve kidney function, lowering blood sugar
Part of plant used: roots, rhizomes
Possible side effects: increased bleeding risk (discontinue a few days before surgery)
Active constituents: Saponin (Ginsenoside), panaxynol, polysaccharides
Drug Interactions: Influenza Virus Vaccine, Ticlopidine, Triotann-S Pediatric, Warfarin

Panax ginseng is referred to as the ginseng that originates in Korea.  I saw this one a lot when I was in South Korea and I've seen it in many different forms.  The coolest thing that I saw was how they had big jars with the roots of ginseng in alcohol.
