Scientific name: Menyanthes trfoiata
Possible uses: digestive tonic, fever, rheumatism, liver ailments, dropsy, worms, skin diseases, astringent, stops bleeding, dyspeptic discomfort, loss of appetite, stimulate flow of saliva and gastric juice
Part of plant used: root, leave
Possible side effects: vomiting (fresh plant)
Description: cloverlike leaves arising from the root. Flowers 5-parted, white to pinkish, on a naked raceme. Petals with fuzzy beards.
