Fragrant Water-Lily

Name: Fragrant Water-Lily
Scientific name: Nymphaea odorata
Possible uses: lung ailments, coughs, tuberculosis, inflamed glands, mouth sores, stop bleeding, swelling, freckles, pimples, bowel complaints, astringent, antiseptic
Part of plant used: roots
Possible side effects: toxicity at large doses.
Description: Aquatic perennial with large, round, floating leaves; leaf notched at base.  Flowers white, to 5 in. across; sweetly fragrant.
