Homeopathy

I find this term used more often than paraherbalism.  Homeopathy is a pernicious form of paraherbalism that bases their use of herbs from "Laws of similars."  Homeopathy was founded by Samuel Hahnemann in the late 18th century.  This philosophy believes that symptoms of diseases were a reflection of an imbalance in the body and not a direct manifestation of the illness.  So they have produced a book in which they have drugs to go towards certain symptoms that are produced in the body.  Homeopaths also believe in "law of infinitesimals" which means that the potency of a drug is inversely proportional to the concentration.  So with that they usually do serial dilution.
With this dilution, homeopaths believe that they could get the spirit of the drug within their extracts, which is against everything scientifically known.
Thanks to their beliefs, herbal remedies once again gets a bad rep from the Western medicine community.
So, they do have a book called Homeopathic Pharmacopeia of the United States (I will be giving this a look at later).

This is all I have on it now, and I will be updating it as I read more sources!
