Possible uses: headache, toothache, arthritis, prevent heart attack, stroke and colorectal cancer; diarrhea, fevers, pain, rheumatism, corns, cuts, ulcers, poison ivy rashes, anti-clotting
Part of plant used: bark
Active constituents: salicin
This tree is the founder of aspirin that is commonly used today. Be careful f you are taking this with aspirin! Do not take this if you're allergic to aspirin. Branches are flexible enough to make basic. Strong tea can be made from the dried bark or twigs and used as an analgesic.
