Scientific name: Alisma subcordatum
Possible uses: diuretic, kidney stones, urinary disease, bruises, swellings, wounds, nasal catarrh
Part of plant used: dried leaves, root
Possible side effects: reddening and skin irritation from fresh leaves
Description: Erect or drooping (in deep water) perennial, 1-3 ft. inn flower. Long-stemmed, nearly heart-shaped leaves. Flowers tiny (less than 1/8 in. long), in whorls on branched stalks. Petals same length as sepals
