Goldenseal

Name: Goldenseal
Scientific name: Hydrastis canadensis
Possible uses: antifungal, antibacterial, athelete's foot, mouth rinse for infected gums, canker sores, heals sore, wounds, infections, eye infections,mucus conditions; respiratory infections and congestion of all kinds; serious childhood infectious diseases, measles, scarlet fever, meningitis, anti-malaria, anticancer, uterine infections, cervical dysplasia (douche), herpes blisters, liver diseases, gallbladder, stop profuse bleeding, disinfects wounds and cuts, astringent, diuretic, laxative
Active constituents: berberine
Drug interactions: heparin, blood thinners, anti-hypertensive
Side effects: nausea, diarrhea, mood swings, photosensitivity, not good for long-term
Contraindications: pregnant (can cause miscarriage), hypertension, heart disease
